CLASH OF THE TITANS: RED BULL SOUNDCLASH / THE LONG-EXPECTED NIGHT

CLASH OF THE TITANS / THE LONG-EXPECTED NIGHT

Finally we have experienced that night! Oh, what a night it was! From now on, the regular concerts will be very monotonous, tasteless for us! Soundclash was like no other music event I've ever seen. This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The paragraph below from the Red Bull web site describes what Red Bull Soundclash is:

Red Bull Soundclash is a unique live musical experience that brings two bands with different sounds, styles and influences together under one roof to compete for the devotion of a room full of fans. With the bands set up on opposite stages, each group takes it in turn to improvise around a groove and then wait as the opposing band has to answer. Which band will call the tune? Which band will lift the crowd? Which band will be the ultimate winner?

I was wondering what kind of clash it would be between maNga and Athena since the first newspaper article about the Soundclash was appeared. Last week's NTV interview with both bands gave us some hints about what would happen that night, but nothing exclusive. There would be surprises and really good music from both bands, that's for sure. But what I didn't expect was some interesting and unexpected choreographed shows and the cute verbal duels between the lead singers of both bands. We liked these cute interactions between the bands as much as the performances.

Red Bull Soundclash was a first for Turkey, but I hope it won't be the last! There aren't many rock bands, courageous enough to accept such an offer in our country, so we have to congratulate both bands for accepting such an offer without blinking an eye.

Now I'll do my best to share my excitement of that night. Of course it won't be like being there in person, but if I could give you some idea how brilliant the concert was, I would be happy. Here is how it all went down.

CLASH OF THE TITANS

We reach the gate of the Soundclash arena around 18:45. It's very cold, but we won't have to wait in the open air long, because the gates will be opened around 19:30. There is a TV crew, interviewing with the young group of girls and boys in front of me about how they feel about the Soundclash. The girl says that they are very excited because this is a new concept.

The Soundclash Gate

Around 19:20, after strict controls, we are allowed inside the arena. First thing we do is to locate maNga stage. Two separate stages set up at the far ends of the arena. One is illuminated with blue spotlights and this belongs to maNga; the other one is lit by red spotlights and this is the Athena stage. I don't know why, but somehow I like maNga stage to be in blue. :)
The Blue Stage of maNga
The Red Stage of Athena

We settle in front of the blue stage. We're up front and very very close to the stage. This is the first time in a long time that I'll watch a concert this close. There are obsessive fans around us, such as a girl who takes pics with maNga boys at every concert, or another girl who always takes Cem's water from him at concerts. :)
The Soundclash Arena

I even come across coincidentally one of my Twitter followers! :) I tweet some pics from the arena to my Twitter followers, as I promised them. I know a lot of people who can't come to the concert follow my tweets tonight. I'll be one of the live Twitter correspondents of the Soundclash to the world. :)

Towards 21:00, there is a little stir on stage. We see maNga boys at the backstage, waiting to come onto the stage. Ozgur is jumping up and down. The others are looking cool. My friend says that she saw Nathalie, too. The host of the event is cute TV talent, Alp Kirsan.

At 21:15, maNga come onto the stage. We have no interest in the Athena stage at all. MaNga's performance is all we care about. Soundclash is starting!
maNga on stage

Yagmur has a transparent tshirt and tight-fitting trousers with rhinestone-studded parts on it. Ozgur is in a vest with rhinestone-studded shoulder straps. Efe and Cem are wearing regular tshirts. Ferman is in his favorite black sleeveless undershirt that everybody loved and he had a funny beanie (probably QUE's) on his new bald head.
maNga's Frontline

Soundclash has some rules. We know them. First of all, there will be warm-up for each group, where they perform their 3 songs by turns to present themselves. In the warm-up, maNga performs their usual opening song "Rezalet Cikarasim Var", and then "Bir Kadin Cizeceksin" which was released this very day 8 years ago; and "Evdeki Ses". They are in pretty good shape as usual.

Athena's warm-up songs included "Aşk Kafasi", "Sen de Yap!", "Arsız Gönül". I'm not familiar with the latest Athena songs very much, so I can't review their warm-up songs. But during their warm-up, maNga boys watch them from their stage.

maNga watching Athena's warm-up

Step 1 : The Cover

Each band is to do its own previously rehearsed version of a song selected in advance.

The first round of the night will be "The Cover" and the real show begins. We were very curious about which song will be selected as "The Cover" before the Soundclash. MaNga and Athena were so careful and meticulous not to give any hint even mistakenly about the Cover Song during the NTV interview, but Red Bull TR website revealed the cover song one day before the Soundclash and spoiled all the surprise for us. Yes, now we know what the cover song is like and we have done our homework. It's Chemical Brothers' "Galvanize".

Round 1 / The Cover / maNga Galvanize

It's a rap song with an attractive well-known intro. We aren't worried, because Ferman is very good at rap songs. But we didn't expect such a stage show at all! This is a choreographed show with all the dancers and costumes etc. Probably their first show ever since Eurovision 2010 for maNga. This must be the thing that Ferman called "surprise at the beginning". The dancers look like the sand creatures with glowing eyes in the Star Wars movies. And Ferman comes onto the stage in overalls with a rhinestone-studded hoodie and he's holding a leash of a dancer crawling like a dog! Ferman's performance is very harsh. And then we have 2 burlesque showgirls on the stage as well. They're maybe Nathalie's friends and maybe this is even Nathalie's own choreography. :) This is nothing what I have expected from the Cover at all. But it looks very cool on stage. The audience loved the show very much.
Ferman and the showgirls on "Galvanize"
Athena's belly dancers on "Galvanize"

On the far stage, Athena is ready for their own version of "Galvanize". In the meantime, I tweet and let my Twitter friends know about the warm-up and the Cover, so I can't pay attention to Athena's performance on stage as much as I want. But towards the end of the song, there is a noise from the audience and I raise my head from my cell phone and look up at the big screen on the right side of me. Wow! There are 3 belly dancers on Athena stage!! Athena was like trying to say "We have girls, too! How about that?". :) The crowd liked the belly dancers as well, because a burst of applause arises from the crowd in the arena. Athena knows how to play to the crowd as usual.
Ferman in a duel of words with Athena's Gökhan

In the meantime, there are a very cute verbal duel between the two lead singers of the both bands across the arena and this is very fun to watch. Ferman says that the belly dancers really surprised him and he didn't expect them at all. Gokhan, Athena's lead singer asks Ferman, "Did you like it?" :) Gokhan continues his banter, "you know why it happened!". Ferman doesn't know and he asks,"why?" but Gokhan, intentionally or unintentionally doesn't answer the question and Ferman doesn't pursue it. Gokhan was about to explain why they brought the belly dancers up, but we won't be able to know that any more!

Step 2 : The Takeover

Each band starts one of their own songs and then stops mid track and lets the other band finish.

The next round is The Takeover. The duel of words is continuing. Gokhan says, "The real thing is starting right now! Let's see how we take over your song! That song which you're about to play will be ours!". Ferman shoots back, "You're firing us up big time!". We are really anxious about which song they will hand over to Athena!

And the song that I'm in love with, Cevapsiz Sorular, its album version's familiar intro with piano begins to flow. There is an enthusiastic applause from the crowd. We missed this version, because we have listened only to the acoustic version of it since last year. So we're all ears! I admit this is a surprise for me. I haven't expected it at all to be a takeover song. Will it be a fast takeover, or slow like the original? We don't know it yet. Ferman's duel with words is continuing: "We're playing this song for Athena!". And then he points his hand to us, "...and for you, too!". Ferman is singing in a relaxed fashion. The accompaniment of the audience is excellent as always. And then Yagmur extends his hand to the other stage and Athena's taking the song over. ..but how??! The music is in reggae form! Just the Athena style! But a little slow. Everybody's surprised! This is a real surprise now! I haven't thought that this song could be performed in reggae form. It's a very good experimental effort from Athena and they transform the song into a mixture of a ballad and reggae. Ferman can't stand still and goes with the reggae rhythm and dancing all over the stage!

Efe writes something on a paper, he shows it first to Ferman and then to the camera at the back. I'm not sure what was on the paper but it looks like "Athena...". We'll surely see it on TV!
Round 2 Takeover - Devralma 1
maNga Cevapsız Sorular + Athena Serseri Mayın

When Gokhan sings "Cevapsiz Sorular", the full accompaniment of the audience was again perfect. After the song is completed, Gokhan says, "I'd like to admit something: This song is one of the best Turkish songs ever. Thank you so much, guys, for sharing it with us!". That's right, Cevapsiz Sorular is now a classic, mother of all the romantic and sad break-up songs! This must be something that maNga is proud of.
Ferman in verbal duel with Gökhan & performs Cevapsız Sorular

It's Ferman's turn to duel: "Gokhan, you played it differently so much so that from now on, how can I sing it without remembering this version?" :) Yes, that's gonna be tough! Gokhan jokes again, "That's how we'll sing it from now on!" and asks for permission to sing this version in their concerts. Ferman extends his arms forward laughing and says "you have it!" :)

Now it's Athena's turn for the takeover. They choose their well-known song "Serseri Mayin" (Floating Mine). After an exhilarating performance from Athena, maNga takes over the song with Yagmur's brilliant electro guitar riffs and Ferman's harsh voice. MaNga's frontline get the crowd energized more and more. On the last chorus, Ferman makes the pitch of his voice lower than the rest of the song and says to us "sway your hands from right to left or from left to right...now that's what we call trance!". And then again his voice gets louder and harsher and the song is abruptly over! Wow! What a takeover it is!
Round 2 Takeover - Devralma 2 maNga - Athena Dursun Zaman

Both bands have to do this twice, so it's maNga's turn again. This time the song will be the wonderful "Dursun Zaman". A part of the song will always be missing without Göksel's original unique accompaniment, so the unforgettable intro begins with Yagmur and Cem's guitar solos instead of Göksel's voice. And then Ferman starts to sing it. After the first chorus, Yagmur forwards the song to the red stage extending his hand.

This time, we hear the intro from Hakan's guitar and it is a very good maNga cover from Athena. It's eerily the same version! The same tempo, the same guitar riffs, maybe a little something extra from Gökhan's unique style of singing. I really like it! So do Yagmur and Ferman, I think. Because Yagmur salutes Athena with a little bow across the arena and Ferman stands still like a statue without blinking an eye! It was an emotional moment that gives goosebumps!
Round 2 Takeover - Devralma 2
Athena'dan maNga'ya Bazil 1.Kısım Athena
 Round 2 Takeover - Devralma 2
Athena'dan maNga'ya Bazil 2.Kısım Athena

The next song from Athena to maNga is "Korsanlar Krali Bazil" (The King of the Pirates, Bazil) , one of the hardest songs of Athena from 1993. MaNga's takeover was excellent again. When it is over, Ferman says "What a bizarrely fantastic song it is!". Gökhan's comment is "It was like a bulldozer!". Ferman asks permission to play the song at their concerts from now on. Gökhan says, "Let's trade them!".

The lead singers banters with the audience this time. Gökhan asks us "Are you tired? We have just started!". Ferman starts, "The audience is a little...", but leaves it off unfinished. Hmm...what are we?

Now it's the time for the round 3: The Clash.

Step 3 : The Clash

Each band is to take one of their own tunes and transforms it into a different genre.

The bands have to play their 3 songs in different styles. The genres are acoustic, electronica and metal. Three genres which maNga is not stranger at all. I am curious about Athena's interpretation.
Round 3 The Clash / 1.Genre Acoustic /
Athena - Kayip with maNga standing by

Athena starts with an acoustic version of one of their hard songs: "Kayıp" (Missing). But this time it's a very soft and romantic song. I love it. This is the first time they perform it in acoustic form. During their performance, I take video of their performance on the big screen. On maNga stage, the set up of maNga acoustic song continues. I'm curious about which song they will perform in acoustic form. Not Cevapsiz Sorular this time of course. I'd like them to perform a first-time acoustic version of one of the older songs. Two additional instrumentalists come onto the stage. A female violinist and a female cellist. When I see them, I realize which song it will be! And this is somewhat a little disappointment for me.
Ferman having a chat with fans during Athena's acoustic performance of "Kayıp"

I notice a stir around me and I have a look at the maNga stage and wow! Ferman is right in front of us and he is asking very seriously "How are we doing? Are we any good?". And we all give him our thumbs up! A girl shouts to him, "I'm thirsty!" and Ferman gives her one of the Cem's pet bottles. :) The girl explains us that she gets Cem's water in every concert, but this time it was Ferman's hand to give her Cem's water! Some fans are obsessive, yes. :) The male fans want his wrist watch from him, but he ignores them! I remember Avcilar concert in October where Ferman lost his hat. So he is right to ignore them.

He goes back to the stage leaving us. He just has a brief chat with the female instrumentalists and gives a hug to Yagmur, I don't know why. But it is cute! I love their friendship!
Round 3 The Clash /
1.Genre Acoustic / maNga Fly To Stay Alive

Now it's time for maNga acoustic! They are used to acoustic performances. On the frontline, there are 3 high chairs for Yagmur, Ferman and Cem. And the touching guitar solo of "Fly To Stay Alive" starts! It's a fine acoustic performance of the song as usual, but why can't we hear the violin and the cello?

The second genre is electronica. Athena performs their 2010 song "Kalb-i". I have no idea what kind of song it was before this, so I can't comment on this new version. I'm anxious about seeing it on TV broadcast on Dec 28. In the meantime, I'm busy with tweeting my comments on the first rounds to my Twitter friends.
Round 3 The Clash - Carpışma /
2.Genre Electronic / maNga We Could be The Same

In fact, we're curious about which maNga song will be transformed into electronica. Ferman is getting ready to use the keyboard right by the microphone from the very beginning of the concert. He asks several times, "Are we gonna jump?". And a music we can't recognize until we hear Ferman starts like a remix. I have seen Ferman playing keyboard for the first time. He can play it. And the song is no other than famous ESC 2010's runner-up "We Could Be The Same". :) But this time it's a disco version of it. On the chorus part, we accompany him as usual: "Foooor all this tiiiiime!". The crowd get carried away with the song!

The third genre is metal. Athena's choice for metal is their 2002 song "Öpücük" (Kiss). I can't say how much this song transformed into metal, but it sounds pretty hard across the arena. :)
Round 3 The Clash Metal maNga Beni Benimle Birak 1.Kısım
Round 3 The Clash Metal maNga Beni Benimle Birak 2.Kısım

On the other hand, maNga's 3rd song for metal starts with a unrecognizable arrangement. When Ferman starts to sing, we realize it's "Beni Benimle Bırak". In this new metal form, they can easily put it into their new album as a new song! :) It's quite hard in metal.

After this, Gökhan and Ferman duels in words again. Gökhan jokes that in fact they're not so friendly; since we, the audience is here, they're keeping calm. But after the concert they're gonna slug it out outside! :)

Ferman responds jokingly: "If possible, let's not see one another at the backstage! The greenrooms are so close to each other! Please make room between them if you can!" :) I love them bantering!

Now it's time for the most exciting and most anticipated round of all: The Wildcard.

Step 4 : The Wildcard

This final round allows each band to bring a "surprise" guest on stage.

Yes, they're allowed to bring a special guest and it'll be a complete surprise!

MaNga starts again. Before the song starts, Ferman jokes with Gökhan again, "Gökhan, after this performance we'll still be friends, right?". Gökhan, "What are you talking about? Our friendship is eternal!" :)

We don't have any clues at all as to who might be the guest stars tonight. This is a complete secret! I don't expect anyone extremely famous, but it never occurred to me that the guests would be this surprising!
Round 4 / The Wildcard - Joker /
maNga - Alisirim Gozlerimi Kapamaya 1.Kısım
Round 4 / The Wildcard - Joker /
maNga - Alisirim Gozlerimi Kapamaya 1.Kısım

MaNga's song is not a surprise at all. It's their usual closing song of all their concerts. The magnificent "Alışırım Gözlerimi Kapamaya" with that fantastic drum show at the end. The surprise will be when the guest joins them on the stage. Their famous drums with lights inside are already on stage. But something bothers Ferman. He starts, "Oh, this song is ...." and then says something to Cem. What? We don't know what bothers him. He wrestles with his in-ears for a while as usual. :) The song is a complete success again, with the drum show and all, but where is the guest? I'm thinking about something to do with drums and percussion. And I remember the only name I can think of : Percussion master Burhan Öçal. If it's him, he will definitely surprise all of us! We're waiting for the big moment!
maNga - Cem Bergamalı Drum Show

And...what?! A group of 5 Ramadan drummers make a dash onto the stage! Just as I half guessed anyway! Their chief has a long hair like an American Indian and his name is Cem Bergamalı. We found out his name afterwards from the host Alp Kırşan. I think I've heard his name before but how? maNga boys and the guest drummers start an extra spectacular drum show and make the crowd frenzied with enjoyment! We watch this rhythmic drum show fascinatedly! When they finish, an enthusiastic burst of applause arises from the crowd. And then as usual they throw their rods to the crowd. Efe's rod flies over my head and it is grabbed by a boy behind me. After one of the Cem's rods is grabbed by a fan at the right side of me, my friend shouts at Cem, "Throw that at me, please!!!". And then an something incredible happens and as if Cem heard my friend and locked on target, he gently throws the rod in our direction and...and...my friend grabs it incredibly!! Wow! I say "that's too much!" and we hug each other out of joy!
Athena and the Mehter
Athena's "Holigan" Performance feat.Mehter
Round 4 Joker / Athena - Holigan feat.Mehter (in front of the far maNga stage)

Now it's time for Athena's last round! While we were enjoying the prolonged drum show of maNga, we totally forgot Athena! We turn around and look at the Athena stage, our eyebrows are raised and our mouths drop open! Because Mehter, Ottoman Ceremonial Military Band had been set up on the stage in full regalia. A roar of astonishment comes from the crowd. Nobody expected to see them on the stage at all, I'm sure. And with the "Hasdur!" ("Get Ready" or "Attention") of the band chief, the most stirring song ever written by Athena "Holigan" starts! Who can resist this song? Noone! Everybody including maNga fans start jumping up and down all of a sudden! After the intro, we hear the zournas of The Mehter. Athena acts very smart. With this soccer march, they know how to capture the attention of the crowd. It's their job to compose sporting marches. They prove one more time that they know what they do. We are the Turks! We can't resist the belly dancers and the Mehter music! The song stimulates the national sentiments of the crowd and the whole arena burst into a thunderous applause. With this performance, Athena takes the spotlight away from maNga.
Athena + maNga Brotherhood on stage

After "Holigan" is over, we notice that maNga also go onto the Athena stage. Tonight the winner is the music and the friendship! The two bands capture the hearts of the crowd one more time with the final speeches from both lead singers full of friendship and brotherhood. At the end, "maNga Bow" transforms into a "Athena+maNga Bow" and ends this unforgettable night of good creative music!
Athena+maNga Bow

The people listened to real pure music tonight. We heard the songs of our favorite bands in the forms that we've never heard before and can never hear again. Now the regular concerts will be tasteless for me and for many people who were here tonight. I realized one more time that we, Turks love the concerts we can dance wildly.

I had fun tonight! I was right in front of the maNga stage and I could manage to take HD videos of all the performances of maNga. I have used up 5 memory cards and 2 extra batteries. I have lots of raw materials to share with the world again!

Cem's rod

And we have a little souvenir from tonight: Cem's rod! My friend will take it home with her of course, but I can at least take a photo of it in my hand!

Soundclash was a first for Turkey. We don't want it to be the last. This concert opened our horizon to new ideas and concepts in music which is very interesting and we liked it. Let's see which bands will clash in next year's Soundclash. We'll be looking forward to it.

Before going to bed, I notice that a little tweet arrived all the way from Colombia! The Colombian maNga fan says, "you have done a great job tonight! Thanks from Colombia!". Yes, it's a small world!

PS. The Soundclash partial concert will be on Dream TV at 21:00 on Dec 28, 2012. You can watch it online as well : http://www.dreamtv.com.tr/canli-yayin/

And then the whole Soundclash concert will be broadcasted on TMB TV very soon. The date hasn't been fixed yet. You can watch it online, too : http://tmb.tv/izle.aspx

DİSKO / KULAKTAN KULAGA EPISODE 9

Episode 9/ Ankara / 22 Dec 2012

In the episode 6 (Şarkışla), Ferman said that he was at home. But it's in this episode that he is really at home. Because he'll be at "home" in his hometown, Ankara, where he was born and raised. And he is now addressing us from his family's home.

In Ankara, he'll visit different places; he'll introduce us different types of music. With us, also Ferman will witness how developed Ankara has become in the past years. He'll go to Sincan and there he'll listen to cheerful folk songs of Ankara.

Then he'll introduce us a little bit of the short history of Ankara-based rock music; how the bands are holding on; how the circumstances were for the rock bands in the past in Ankara.

And then he'll be talking to the authorities about the development of the western classical music in Ankara. After the foundation of Turkish Republic, Ottoman State Orchestra moved to the new capital Ankara in 1924 and become Presidential Symphony Orchestra. How did the polyphonic music and opera develop in Ankara and how did Ankara become a pioneer in western classical music in Turkey? He'll get some information about these as well. In a nutshell, Ferman will rediscover Ankara with us!

The only address to listen to Ankara's real folk music is Sincan and one of the main figures who's in the business is Mehmet Demirtaş, an Ankara-born minstrel.

Mehmet Demirtaş and Ferman in Sincan, Ankara

Ferman has a talk about the real folk songs of Ankara with Mehmet Bey. First of all, Mehmet Bey performs "Fidayda" with his saz, a very well-known folk song. It's a cheerful dance song of a rhythmical tempo. Ferman says that not many people think of something like this when we say "folk music of Ankara". The young people think that Ankara's folk songs contain too much slang; has too many colloquial expressions and it's simply entertainment music.

Mehmet Bey explains his opinions on this. We're Nasreddin Hoca's descendants and we're not against the humour. But the folk music of the modern day Ankara has too much simplicity and it's just exploitation of the musical heritage. This is not sense of humour; this is something else. He means the music that is performed in the wedding halls and restaurant-bars in Ankara. What he played earlier is the real folk music of Ankara. That's what he has learned from his masters. After this, he plays one more original folk song. This one makes Ferman's eyes wet. He's touched by the song very much. And then Mehmet Bey gives some technical information about the various sorts of saz in the music shop he owns.

Ferman wants us to listen to a humorous folk song called "Apache" by Mehmet Demirtaş as an example of real sense of humour.

Hüseyin Kağıt

Now we'll go to meet another musician in Sincan. He belongs to a younger generation and an internet phenomenon. It's Hüseyin Kağıt. He has tattoos all over, chain around his neck, rings on his fingers; he's wearing a shirt with his name embroidered on it. It's not wrong that we call him alternative performer of folk music of Ankara. His interpretation of folk music is a little different from the others. He has an unique style of singing.

Hüseyin Kağıt sings his original songs that he writes. He says that he's not good at singing somebody else's songs, but he sings his own songs very well. So the people adopted him and his songs dearly.

Ferman explains his observation that there is a group of underground performers in Turkey that their songs have remarkable views on the internet; their concert tickets are sold out on the first day. Hüseyin Kağıt is one of them. The song that he's about to sing has a 8 and a half million views on You Tube and once after a concert, people parked cars behind his car so that he can't leave the concert hall! The 45-minute concert was finally over after 2 hours and there was a stampede.

The people think that the music in Turkey belongs only to the popular culture and the popular performers. But in fact, underground performers have a huge fan base that nobody knows about. Hüseyin Kağıt hasn't got a big orchestra, just a small group of instrumentalists. He has concerts every day and he participates in festivals all over the region. Some nights, he even sleeps in his car so that he can make his concert schedule.

Then he sings his famous song on You Tube and Ferman just watches his performance with an expression on his face saying "how can this be possible?"
Ferman at the Sincan local radio

After his meeting with his Hüseyin Kağıt, he visits a local radio station in Sincan as a guest. Apparently, the people of this radio station helped him find the right people in Sincan. Because first thing he does is to thank the host. The host lady thanks him back hoping Ferman will introduce the right folk songs of Ankara and correct the wrong perception about the folk music of Ankara. Then Ferman gives a short information about his program Kulaktan Kulağa.
Ferman and his former tutor Ms.Ayşe Meral at the Opera House

After the shootings in Sincan is completed, he returns to downtown Ankara. This time he goes to The Opera House. Here he meets his former tutor of voice training, Ms.Ayşe Meral.

Years ago, Ferman took private lessons of voice training from Ms.Ayşe Meral around 2002-2003, then he participated in the classical Turkish music classes at Uskudar Music Society in İstanbul. He asks his tutor about what she remembers from that time. She remembers a lot of things about Ferman and the lessons with him. She remembers very well that he showed perfect discipline; he had a persistent attitude and a determination towards his goal. These were all telling that he was a whiz-kid! It was obvious that he would have a bright future in music. She's very proud of him when she thinks about his achievements so far. Ferman adds that he still practices the technical tips he learned from her before all the concerts. She suggests an update of vocal techniques if he desires. Ferman wishes that, too, when he has time to do it.

Then she gives some information about the history of opera in Ankara. The Opera House was originally designed as an exhibition center and later it was converted into an opera house and started serving this function in 1948 with the performance of pieces of "The Turkish Five" (Five pioneers of western classical music in Turkey). The Turkish Five are Ahmet Adnan Saygun, Ulvi Cemal Erkin, Hasan Ferit Alnar, Necil Kazim Akses and Cemal Reşit Rey. The organization of the opera orchestra, ballet and the chorus was completed in 1950-1953.

Ferman thinks that the heart of the opera is still in Ankara and Ankara is also the capital of the western classical music in Turkey. She agrees with him. In 1935, The Music Teachers School which was opened in Ankara in 1924, subsequently transformed into Ankara State Conservatory. This was a big benefit in terms of music and remarkably important steps have been taken in classical music.

Ferman asks again, "Did the gloominess and the so-called boringness as some people say, not us, affect the development of classical music in Ankara?". She says that the Turkish people has a prejudice about opera; opera is not only singing like a soprano. Some people think of opera as noise or just some shouts. But opera in fact is a combination of art of all sorts. She invites people to see an opera and says, "Just once, come and see what opera is really like!"
There is music, vocals, decoration, costumes, lighting, etc. The people will surely find at least one thing that they like. Ferman asks, "Do we have to understand it?". She answers, "Definitely no! There is magic in opera. Just once you must enter in that magical world of opera without prejudice. Yes, we all raised in a world of traditional folk music, so it might be a little hard to understand this universal art of music. Because we're not familiar to this kind of music unless we are educated in classical music." She says again, "Just once come and see that enormous work that we put in opera". Ferman repeats to us,"What else can I say? Come and see!"

Ferman and Egemen Ünal of "Metropolis"

Now it's time to see why Ankara is so important for Ferman and maNga. maNga was formed in Ankara. They crooned first songs here in this city. maNga is not the first rock band of Ankara, of course. Before them, there were incredible elder rockers. One of them is Egemen Ünal, legendary drummer of "Metropolis".
Every band has some idols. For maNga, one of the biggest legends is "Metropolis". Now he'll remember the old days and talk about the present day with Egemen Abi. Ferman asks him how he remembers the past and what changed and how; what he missed the most; what happened in 10 years in Ankara.

The people's perspective on music has changed. The economic structure of Turkey has changed as well. Due to increased commercial concerns, bar owners turned to what is popular. Rather than music, drink and ticket sales grew in importance. Therefore, the concerts where the musicians played their own original songs decreased in numbers. There were times when they went to some concerts where about 1000 people gathered to listen to some metal bands. Those places all closed down. For him, Seattle ecole is not so different from Ankara. Ten years have passed and now there are very few people who buy albums and listens to original composed music. The people lost interest in music. Once people used to come just to listen to the guitarist or the drummer. That's gone, either. Now people just come to listen to the singer and the brand name gained more importance. These are tough times for an artist.
Ferman, Egemen Ünal and Yalçın Köprücü

One of the most important venues in those times was Limon Bar. It was very important in maNga's past as well. Now Ferman meets the ex-owner of Limon, Yalçın Köprücü who made Limon an important place for rockers of Ankara. He is a figure of great importance for Ankara's history of rock music. Because he gave many bands the opportunities to play their own music. They called him "Yalçın Abi", but at the same time he was their boss. Metropolis and Yalçın Abi gave maNga great support to play their own songs at Limon. Ferman summarizes what he and Egemen Abi talked earlier to him. He says that those who encourage the new bands to make their own music have been decreased. He asks him what he thinks about the old days at Limon. Yalçın Abi says that Limon was a venue for those who make original music. They encouraged them to make and play original songs, not only cover songs. This encouragement cleared the way for the younger rockers and gave the new bands opportunities to play at Limon. They didn't need well-known names in those times. A lot of bands played at Limon and achieved many things.

Ferman adds that they used to go to Limon to listen to music, play music or just to have a chat. Limon was their hangout. Yalçın Abi says that different bands used to played each night but those bands also used to come to listen to their fellow rockers. It was like a home for rockers. Sundays were only for employees of Limon. Egemen Abi even proposed to his wife of 9 years at Limon.
Ferman and Volkan Yırtıcı

The last stop for Ferman in Ankara is a studio. This studio is significant for Ferman, because maNga recorded their first songs here at this studio. The first notes, first melodies of maNga's musical adventure were recorded here in the hands of Volkan Abi (Yırtıcı).

Ferman remembers very well that how many times they stayed up all night with him here. Volkan Abi's studio is a very important milestone for many groups in Ankara. maNga recorded their first demo tape here, for instance. It was exactly ten years ago and it was a very important turning point for maNga. Ferman still has that demo tape and promises to send that tape to Volkan Abi. Volkan Abi produced TNK's album and Zakkum's latest album. Volkan Abi still works mostly with the pop-rock or rock groups from Ankara. Among his latest work is albums of SonDört, Sade and Nükleer Başlıklı Kız. He is so busy with these artists' work that he can't find time to work on his own solo album.
Ferman asks the same question to him: What changed in 10 years in Ankara? Volkan Abi says that the groups from Ankara used to make more original songs in the past. They worked in amateur spirit. Ankara produced a lot of rock groups in the past and most of them moved to İstanbul like maNga. In this respect, Ankara is Turkey's Seattle. The groups have to invest in making their own music. He can't sense that old energy in Ankara now. Ferman adds that in those times there was only Kızılay district where the musicians gathered. But now there are several central districts in the city.
Ferman and PLAN

Ferman introduces us in this episode PLAN, a rock band of Ankara who is obstinately trying to make music in Ankara. They join Ferman and Volkan Abi at the studio.

Ferman asks them what they think about making an album; what kind of hardships they go through on this road and if they think about moving to İstanbul. Now they are in the phase of producing the album. After they completed it, they think maybe it will be advantageous to be in İstanbul for promoting the album. Ferman reminds them of some groups who preferred to stay in Ankara such as Zakkum or Seksendört. maNga chose to move to İstanbul instead of staying here. Ferman thinks that maNga was lucky in many aspects and everything went very well. He wishes them all the best on the road to their goal.
Efe and Ferman at the maNga's studio

Back in İstanbul. This episode's guest will be Ferman again. 3 episodes before, the guest was Ferman and maNga, because we discovered Ferman's roots in that episode 6. Now we're in Ankara where Ferman was born and raised. That's why he will be the guest again. He personally thinks that rock music is very important for Ankara. Rock music is one of the local musical motifs which represents Ankara's several type of music. He will duet with PLAN on one of their songs. And the surprise of this episode will be maNga's own Efe! Efe likes the song, but he needs to go to his house to do his own recording. He can't do it at the studio, because he has a studio phobia. :) He's going to cook his part in his own kitchen! :)
Ferman recording the song
DİSKO / PLAN / Ferman

This episode's song is an original rock song of a rock band from Ankara. They are trying to produce their first album right now.

In this "very special" episode for Ferman, we got to know several different music styles of Ankara. Ferman revisited the milestones for maNga in the city. Rock music represents Ankara's local music among other music styles now. So it is significant to have a rock band as a guest in this program.

So, next week, where to, Ferman?

BEN BU AŞKIN ÇİLESİNİ / KULAKTAN KULAGA EPISODE 8

EPISODE 8 / KAYSERİ DEVELİ / 15 Dec 2012

Ferman will be in Kayseri-Develi this week. Develi is a town in Kayseri Province in Central Anatolia, lying at the southern foot of Mount Erciyes. Ferman is getting more and more excited as it gets nearer.

Mount Erciyes is the highest mountain in Central Anatolia with its summit reaching 3,916 m and also an extinct volcano. It has a legend of a two star-crossed lovers who love each other but can't come together, committed suicide jumping into the volcano together. The legend says that they found the wedding veil around the summit and it turned into the eternal snow on the summit afterwards and the volcano become extinct. Ferman is in pursuit of the musical tracks of this touching legend which spread from ear to ear.

Ancient Anatolian geographer Strabo wrote that the summit is never free from snow and that those few who ascended it reported seeing both the Black Sea to the north and the Mediterranean Sea to the south in days with a clear sky. It's maybe impossible to prove it scientifically, but Ferman wants to believe in Strabo! :)

The town's name is derived from Dev Ali, Seljuk commander of Sultan Alp Arslan, or a leader of an Oguz Turkish clan of the similar name of Develiogullari.

The town is famous for its delicous local pide called "cıvıklı", the 19th century minstrel Asik Seyrani and its beautiful people. Ferman encounters one of the beautiful people of Develi on the way to Develi. The old lady sings a beautiful folk song to him by the road.

Ferman listening to the old lady's little tune

After he wanders around Develi, he reaches The Tomb of Dev Ali. Dev Ali was one of the commanders of Seljuk Sultan Alp Arslan and he had captured the Byzantine castle that stood nearby. The Director of Public Relations of Develi Municipality tells Ferman the story of how Dev Ali captured the castle. There was the gate of the castle near the tomb. When Ali died, his comrades built his tomb where once the castle gate was.
Ferman in front of the statue of Aşık Seyrani

Ferman stands in front of the statue of the great poet/minstrel Asik Seyrani. He was a very special minstrel. He could never stand injustice, wrongfulness, inequity, bribery, etc. His songs were always about these matters and he was famous for his verbal duels of wit and creativity with other minstrels. His greatest characteristic was his smart use of social and political satire, humour, irony, exaggeration or ridicule to expose and critisize people's stupidity or vice. He was like Develi's Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Ferman listens to some of his witted songs.
The next thing to do is recording local songs. They will record the songs at Develi Cultural Center.
Ferman with The Director of Public Relations of Develi Municipality

Afterwards, Ferman returns to the streets of Develi. At Develi, Asik Seyrani Festival have been held for 30 years. In this festival, except for enjoying the festivities, there is this activity for compiling old songs to bring them to light. The Minstrelsy Tradition of Turkey is included in UNESCO's list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. This tradition continues in Develi through Asik Seyrani's songs of satire. This tradition is about to disappear from the world. The minstrels travel between communities, they help to spread cultural values and ideas; make social dialogue easier, in part through topical poetry and social and political satire. In Develi, they are working very hard to keep this tradition alive getting several countries together. The Ministry of Culture has a project to turn this festival into a Olympics of Minstrels the next year. This will be a first in the world.
Ferman and Uncle Kadir

Kadir Yucel is one of the minstrels who's got several medals in this festival. He sings one of his songs. Kadir Amca is very good at shadow play and he shows some of his shadow animals to Ferman.

In Develi, after the lady on the road and the shadow plays of Kadir Amca, this time Ferman is surprised to see the taekwando learners who suddenly appear in front of him on the street. Their interaction is lovely and he decides to make some practice with them. The young children are very good. Their instructor shows some tricks of martial arts to Ferman. When the instructor grabs Ferman's leg, the KK crew get a little panicky about Ferman and warn the instructor, "Wow, teacher! We still need him! Be nice!"
Ferman and the taekwando learners
Ferman and Ali Yıldız at the Develi Cultural Center

After taekwando practice and some strolling, he returns to the Cultural Center. He meets minstrel Ali Yildiz there. Ali Bey says that their purpose is to introduce Asik Seyrani to the world. He tells a little satiric anectode of Asik Seyrani and says that Seyrani's songs are full of humor and satire and through his songs he intends to give some social messages to the people. He is very proud of being his descendant. Ferman adds that it is his job to introduce him to the world.

####
Ferman and Group Seksendört (84) at the briefing

Back in İstanbul. This episode's guests are Group Seksendört (84). They are at the briefing. Before Ferman gives a synopsis of his adventure, he explains his observation: maNga and Seksendört originated in Ankara which is in Central Anatolia. Kayseri is one of the biggest cities around Ankara. Located a little south of Kayseri, Develi's music, social practises and customs are a little different from those of Kayseri. Tuna, the lead singer of Seksendört isn't stranger to Seyrani and his songs. He has heard this episode's song before. He has a fairly good information about Seyrani and his life. Seyrani continued his education in İstanbul around 1836-1839 and this is why his songs are so different from other minstrels' songs of the same period. Ferman is surprised that Tuna has so much info about Seyrani and asks him why. Tuna and Erdem is interested in espeically folk songs. Seksendört gave concerts several times at Kayseri's Erciyes University Festival and never been to Develi before.

Ferman expresses his feelings when he sees the Mount Erciyes from the Tomb Of Dev Ali. He thinks it's impossible not to get inspired by the majesty of the Mount Erciyes. Develi's songs constitute the most of the repertory of folk songs of Kayseri region.

Tuna asks how come Ferman picked Develi for the program. When they decided on Kayseri, one of the friends of Ferman's brother suggested Develi. When they arrived at Develi, the Municipality helped them find the right people and had them meet the leading minstrels.
Ferman at the "cıvıklı" restaurant of Ali Yıldız listening to the song about "cıvıklı"

He tells that one of the minstrels, Ali Yildiz, had a little local restaurant and he wrote a song about the famous local pide "cıvıklı".
Ferman and 84 discussing Central Anatolian music

Ferman tells that he found the musical structure of this episode's song very interesting and decided on this one. Tuna asks, "Is it because you might be listening too much metal?" and they laugh together. Ferman explains more of his opinions on the song. He tells that they travelled within the close range of the triangle of Sivas-Nevsehir-Kayseri and they got anxious about the possible similarities of the music within this triangle. Tuna adds, "Kirsehir would be very suitable for your purpose with its cheerful sound!". Erdem joins and says that the musical sound completely changes at intervals of 5 km in Anatolia.
Ferman and Seksendört start working on the rearrangement

After the briefing, Ferman and Seksendört start working on the rearrangement of the song. This week, the rearrangement belongs to Seksendört's guitarist Erdem. They are experimenting on interesting riffs and tunes. Erdem thinks that simple riffs will be sufficient. It's interesting to watch musicians working on musical arrangements. They like what they did and the next step is recording.
BEN BU AŞKIN ÇİLESİNİ (I suffer from love) /
Şahap Canlıca / Group Seksendört

This episode's song is a sad love song and Seyrani tells how immensely he suffers from love. It's a well-known folk song actually. And this time Tuna's fine voice and the guitar & drum on the background give it a different dimension.

So what will happen next week and where? Ankara? :)

RED BULL SOUNDCLASH / BEKLENEN GECE

Evet, sonunda o beklenen geceyi yasadik!

Simdi sizlerle o geceyi paylasmaya calisacagim. :)

DEVLERİN CARPİSMASİ

O gece bana konser arkadasligi yapan arkadasimla saat 18:45'de kapi onune variyoruz. Arkadasimla konser saatini bekledigimiz kafeden yuruyerek 20 dakikada Kucuk Ciftlik Parki'na geliyoruz. Nefes nefeseyiz. İnsanlar coktan toplanmaya baslamis bile. Hava soguk, 3-4 C var sanirsam. Ellerimizi hohlamak zorunda kaliyoruz, ama kapali alanda olacagimiz icin konser sirasinda usumeyecegimizi bildigimizden rahatiz ve anlik soguga dayanmaya calisiyoruz.

Soundclash Kapısındayız

Bir TV ekibi bizim onumuzdeki genclerle roportaj yapiyor. Gencler heyecanli ve ne diyeceklerini bilemiyorlar. TV ekibi onlari rahatlatmaya calisiyor.

İceri girince ilk yaptigimiz sey, maNga'nin sahnesinin yerini belirlemek oluyor. :) Evet, alana girince sol tarafa dusen sahne maNga'nin. Mavi spot isiklariyla masmavi aydinlatilmis. Yani Sevgili maNga'miz masmavi bir sahnede performans sergileyecek. Alanin sag tarafindaki uzak kirmizi isiklarla aydinlatilmis sahne ise Athena'nin. Mavi sevdigim icin mi, yoksa mavi bana yumusak geldigi icin mi bilmiyorum ama nedense mavi sahnenin maNga'nin olmasi hosuma gidiyor. :)

Red Bull Soundclash Arena

Saat 21:00'e gelirken sahnelerde hareket basliyor. Sahnenin yan tarafinda maNga elemanlarini goruyoruz. Cikmak uzere beklemekteler. Ozgur zipliyor. Efe, Yagmur, Ferman ve Cem sakin gorunuyorlar. Arkadasim, Nathalie'yi de gordugunu soyluyor. :) Heyecanimiz artiyor. Ve gecenin sunucusu olan Alp Kirsan'in sesiyle basliyoruz. Kirsan, alkismetreden bahsediyor. Gece boyunca performanslar sonrasi seyircinin alkislarinin olculecegini belirtiyor. Ekranlardaki beyaz noktayi kirmizi hale getirip, Red Bull logosunun cikmasi alkismetrenin patlamasi anlamina gelecek.

Saatlerimiz 21:15'i gosterdigi anda sahne hareketleniyor. Bizimkiler sahneye cikiyorlar. Arkadaki kirmizi sahnede neler olup bittigiyle ilgilenmiyoruz bile. Soundclash basliyor. Bizim icin maNga'nin performansi onemli. :)
Once bizimkilerin giysilerinden bahsedeyim. Yagmur siyah transparan bir tisort giymis. Pantalonunun bacak kisimlarinda parlak tasli kisimlar var. Onu epeydir boyle gormemistik. Ozgur, yine parlak tasli apoletler takmis. Cem ve Efe normal tisortler icindeler. Ferman her zamanki klasik Ferman, siyah atletiyle.

"Rezalet Cikarasim Var"in guclu davuluyla Ozgur resmen Soundclash'i baslatiyor!

MaNga'nin isinmasi bitince siradaki Athena basliyor isinmasina/isitmasina karsi sahnede.

Isinma turlarindan sonra, Soundclash'in ilk raundu "Cover" olacak. Cover parcanin ne olacagini cok merak ediyorduk. NTV roportajinda bile bunu acik etmemek icin o kadar ugras vermislerdi Yekta Kopan'in cabalariyla; hatta Ferman agzini tutmasi icin Yagmur'dan dirsek darbesi bile yemisti, ama konserden bir gun once Red Bull TR sitesi sarkinin ne olacagini ilan ederek, butun surprizi bozmustu nedense. Evet, cover parcayi biliyoruz artik ve calisarak geldik: Chemical Brothers'dan "Galvanize".
Round 1 / The Cover / maNga Galvanize

Melodisi bir kac yil once bayagi unlu olmus bir rap parcasi. Rap deyince, Ferman'imiz sever. O yuzden endise etmiyoruz.

MaNga hayranlari salonu alkislariyla inletiyorlar. Ferman'in sarkida kullandigi yirtik sesi de eminim butun sadik maNga hayranlari ozlemislerdi ve doya doya dinlemis oldular. :)

Bakalim Athena'nin "Galvanize" yorumu nasil olacak?

Neyse, sirada ikinci raund olan "Devralma" var. Bu raundda iki grup birbirlerinin sarkilarini orta yerden devralip tamamlayacaklar. İste bu heyecanli olacak sahiden. İlk once maNga baslayacak ve Athena devralacak. İki sahne arasinda sevimli atisma devam ediyor. Gokhan, "Asil simdi basliyoruz. Bakalim sarkinizi nasil alacagiz?" diye laf atiyor. "O calacaginiz sarki bizim olacak" diye devam ediyor. Biz hangi parcayi devredecekler diye sahiden merak ediyoruz.
Round 2 Takeover - Devralma 1
maNga - Cevapsız Sorular + Athena - Serseri Mayın

Ve asik oldugum sarki "Cevapsiz Sorular"in album versiyonunun tanidik piyano nagmeleri basliyor. Seyirciler alkisa basliyorlar. Ben sahsen bu sarkiyi devredeceklerini beklemiyordum. Sasirdigimi itiraf edeyim. Herkes cok sasiriyor.

Athena "Cevapsiz Sorular"i bayagi hizlandirmis.

Atisma devam ediyor sahneler arasinda.

MaNga'nin ön takimi elektro gitar riffleriyle costukca cosuyorlar. Evet, epeydir boyle sert degildiler ama paslanmadiklarini gosteriyorlar ve sert maNga'yi geri isteyen hayranlarini mutlu ediyorlar. Sarkinin sonlarina dogru nakaratta muzigin aniden yavaslayip, Ferman'in birdenbire sertten yumusaga indigi kisim ozellikle dikkatimi cekiyor ve cok hosuma gidiyor.

Once maNga basliyor yine. Bu kez devredecekleri parcalari, "Dursun Zaman". Parca Yagmur ve Cem'in birlikte yaptiklari gitar sololariyla basliyor. Gitarlarin havasindan "Dursun Zaman"in baslayacagini anliyoruz. Goksel'in sesi olmadan her zaman bir parcasi eksik olacak olan parca, Yagmur ve Cem'in gitarlarinin tanidik tinilariyla basliyor. Sonra Ferman sesiyle onlara katiliyor. Nakarattan sonra Yagmur yine elini ileri uzatarak sarkiyi karsiya pasliyor.

Bu sefer Athena'dan Hakan'in gitarindan "Dursun Zaman"in introsunu dinliyoruz ve kardesi Gokhan sesiyle katiliyor ona. Bence cok guzel bir maNga cover'i yapti Athena performanslariyla. Sasirdigi belli. :)

Round 2 Takeover - Devralma 2 maNga - Athena Dursun Zaman

Gokhan "Degiselim sarkilari" diyor buna karsilik. :)

Sira 3. raunda geliyor. Yani her iki grubun sarkilarini üç farkli tarzda yorumlayacaklari Carpisma Raundu.

Birazcik hayal kirikligi oluyor bende.
Round 3 The Clash / 1.Genre Acoustic / Athena - Kayip / maNga beklemede
Ferman hayranlarla sohbette - karşıda Athena akustik yapıyor

Ben buyuk ekranda Athena'nin sahnesinin videosunu cekerken bir anda cevremde hafif capli bir gurultu olunca bizim sahneye donuyorum ve Ferman'la burun buruna geliyorum! Sahne kenarina gelmis bu arada, bizim onumuze comelmis soruyor: "Nasil gidiyoruz? İyi miyiz?". Hepimiz dogal olarak basparmaklarimizi yukari kaldirip OK isareti yapiyoruz. Erkek hayranlar, Ferman'in kolundaki saate goz koymuslar ve ona "saati ver, saati!" diye bagiriyorlar. Bir kiz "susadim" diyor, Ferman da Cem'in sandalyesinin dibinde duran suyu alip kiza veriyor. :) Bu kizcagiz, her konserde Cem'in suyunu alirmis, "Bu sefer Ferman'in elinden almak nasip oldu" diyor! Evet, bazi hayranlar takintili insanlar! :)

Ama saati Ferman'in kolunda kaliyor elbette. :) Aman Allah bozmasin! Onlarin bu dostluklari gozlerimi yasartiyor! :)
Round 3 The Clash / 1.Genre Acoustic / maNga Fly To Stay Alive

Ve sira maNga'da. Onlar akustik yapmaya aliskinlar. Yagmur, Cem ve Ferman akustik performans icin yuksek sandalyelerine geciyorlar ve Fly To Stay Alive'in o dokunakli gitari basliyor.

Once Athena "Kalb-i" adli parcalarini elektronik kilifa sokuyorlar.
Round 3 The Clash - Carpışma / 2.Genre Electronic /
maNga We Could be The Same

Merakimiz, maNga'nin hangi sarkiyi elektronik yapacagi hakkinda. :) Ferman bayagi bayagi klavye calabiliyormus. Bunu ilk kez goruyoruz konserlerde. :) Evet, parcamiz, cok iyi bildigimiz veya bildigimizi sandigimiz "We Could Be The Same"den baskasi degil! "Fooor all this tiiiime!" diyerek. :) Salon bayagi bir cosuyor. Bu haliyle, 2010 Eurovision 2.cisi sarkimiz, discolarin yeni vazgecilmezi olmaya aday yeni bir sarki haline gelmis acikcasi. :)

Round 3 The Clash Metal / maNga Beni Benimle Birak 1.Kısım

Round 3 The Clash Metal / maNga Beni Benimle Birak 2.Kısım

Round 4 / Joker / maNga - Alisirim Gozlerimi Kapamaya 1.Kısım
Round 4 / Joker / maNga - Alisirim Gozlerimi Kapamaya 2.Kısım

Salon alkistan yikiliyor. MaNga uyeleri yine bagetlerini seyircilere firlatiyorlar. Efe'nin bageti kafamin ustunden ucarak arkamda birileri tarafindan kapiliyor. Cem'in bir bageti sagimda biri tarafindan kapildiktan sonra, konser arkadasim Cem'e "Bana at! Bana!" diye bagiriyor. Wow! Bu kadari da olmaz artik diyesim geliyor! :) Sevincten birbirimize sariliyoruz. :)
Athena ve Mehter Takımı

Sira Athena'nin Joker'li son raundunda. Biz maNga davul show ile cosmakla mesgulken Athena'yi tamamen unutmusuz. Karsi sahneye dondugumuzde, o da ne? Tum Athena sahnesini, tum ciddiyetiyle Mehteran Bolugu'nun kaplamis oldugunu goruyoruz. Butun salon saskinlik nidalariyla doluyor bir anda. Biz dahil herkes Athena sahnesine donuyor! Athena cok akillica davraniyor bence. 2000 Avrupa Basketbol Sampiyonasi'nda Turk Milli Basketbol Takimi icin yazdiklari "12 Dev Adam" sarkisi nasil milli takimimizi verdigi coskuyla finale tasidiysa, burda da yine Athena'nin tum seyircileri bir anda ele gecirdigini goruyoruz! Yapilacak bir sey yok! Athena bu isi, yani costurma isini iyi biliyor! Spor marsi yazmak onlarin isi.
"Holigan" Performance by ATHENA Feat. Mehteran
Round 4 Joker / Athena - Holigan feat.Mehter (maNga sahnesi onunden)

Cem'in bageti!

Evet, dunya cok kucuk! :)
