Turkish Rock Band MaNga's Caddebostan Concert on Sept.1, 2012

Hello from Istanbul, after a long absence. The hot summer is almost over. There is a lovely breeze outside, welcoming autumn.

The open-air concert season is also almost over. I went to famous Turkish rock band MaNga's Caddebostan concert on Sept.1, 2012.

I discovered this band after this year's Eurovision Song Contest (ESC). MaNga represented Turkey at ESC 2010 in Oslo, Norway, bringing Turkey 2nd place with "We Could Be The Same" after Germany.

They are formed in 2001, being named after the word for Japanese comic books, "manga" that was their common interest and the 5 members of the band are from Ankara, Turkey.

I wasn't a fan until this year's ESC. :) After I came across their ESC2010 videos on YouTube and a long research on the internet about them, I became a die-hard fan of the band. Especially the lead singer Ferman Akgul's amazing voice impressed me very much!

For the first time, I watched them live at Caddebostan, Istanbul on Sept.1, 2012. And I realized first hand why the people liked them so much. They are very good on stage, with an endless energy, as if they were born to perform live on stage.
 


One of their best songs is "Cevapsiz Sorular" ("Unanswered Questions") that is a requiem for a seperation. Especially the acoustic version which Ferman and the Brain of the Band Yagmur play together is unbelievably sentimental with Ferman's excellent voice. I took a video during this song's performance. Now they will give another concert on Oct.10 at Avcilar, Istanbul that is very far from where I live. But however I bought the tickets and intend to go no matter how far! I can't wait to see them on stage again!
